One of the longest relationships in advertising is coming to an end as PepsiCo shifts the creative duties in the US for its flagship soft drink,
Pepsi-Cola, from BBDO Worldwide, which has produced campaigns for the brand since 1960.

The agency that will replace BBDO is also owned by Omnicom. It is the office of TBWA-Chiat-Day, part of the TBWA Worldwide unit of Omnicom, that is located in the Playa del Rey section of Los Angeles. The office will also take over the creative duties for Diet Pepsi from BBDO.

But lately, the battle between Coke and Pepsi is being won not by either brand but mostly by noncarbonated products like juices, teas, energy drinks, sports beverages and bottled water. And the most recent campaigns that BBDO has created for Pepsi-Cola have not resonated with consumers the way previous ads did.

New ads are being developed by TBWA-Chiat-Day to start running at the beginning of next year, Bradley said, but she added she did not know whether they would be introduced on the Super Bowl, which will be played on February 1. PepsiCo has for many years used the Super Bowl as a launching pad for new campaigns for Pepsi-Cola and other brands.

BBDO will continue to create campaigns for Pepsi-Cola in markets outside US. PepsiCo also designated the Arnell Group in New York, another Omnicom shop, as its design agency for projects centred on brand identity and packaging for Pepsi-Cola and other brands.

State-run oil companies on Saturday cut aviation turbine fuel prices by over 12 per cent or Rs 5,580 per kilolitre in line with fall in international oil prices.

With this reduction, the ATF or jet fuel prices are at par with levels that prevailed in September 2007.

Jet fuel price in Delhi was cut by Rs 5,585.19 per kl to Rs 39,380.51 per kl with effect from midnight on Saturday, an official of Indian Oil Corp, the nation’s largest fuel retailer, said.

This is the fifth cut in ATF prices since August when the prices rose to all time high of Rs 71,028.26 per kl. Jet fuel prices have been slashed every month since then and this month this is the third cut - the first being the monthly reduction which was followed by lowering of prices due to abolition of customs duty on the fuel.

Prices have been lowered further because oil companies have now shifted to fixing rates in every 15 days instead of the previous practice of revising the prices based on average oil price in the preceding month.

ATF price in Mumbai, home to the busiest airport in the country, will come down to Rs 40,687.42 per kl from Rs 46,518.85 per kl.

The 2nd summit of BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Scientific, Technical and Economic Cooperation) concluded in the Indian capital New Delhi on Thursday with the member states recognising a range of areas of mutual cooperation including economic development, climate change and combating international terrorism, transnational crime.

The declaration issued at the end of the summit stated that the state delegates recognised that given the geographical contiguity, abundant natural and human resources as well as rich historical and cultural heritage there is great potential for economic and social development which provides a sound basis for mutually beneficial cooperation.

It further said the leaders were convinced that through close cooperation the member countries can maximize the potential of their capabilities and resource endowments for economic and social development of our states and peoples and that the leaders also recognised the adverse impact of climate change on the lives and livelihoods of the populations and the serious threat it poses to the region and also reiterated their commitment to BIMSTEC as a regional cooperation grouping.

Heads of states/governments of Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Bhutan participated in the BIMSTEC summit. Next summit will be held in Thailand.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal addressed the summit, outlining poverty and lack of food security as the main challenge facing South Asia and called for a “shared commitment ” and “concerted effort” to tackle it. He also said that Nepal is ready to host an international conference on poverty reduction to address such regional development challenges.

PM Dahal said Nepal has immense hydro-power potential, and he invited investments from interested countries to tap its benefits. He also said that Nepal’s peace process has proved to be an example for the whole world.

Earlier, PM Dahal met Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa and discussed issues of bilateral interests. During the meeting, the Sri Lankan president expressed willingness to extend cooperation to the Lumbini Development Programme apart from increasing bilateral trade and establishing direct air-link between the two countries.

On the occasion, PM Dahal also invited Rajapaksa to come on a visit of Nepal, in what is seen as his “Lumbini diplomacy”, as Sri Lanka is predominantly a Buddhist country. Rajapaksa accepted the invitation, according to reports.

The state-owned news agency RSS said that the two leaders stressed on the need to promote tourism and enhance people to people contact between the two countries.

Also today, PM Dahal scheduled to hold separate meetings with different head of states and government including Thailand, Myanmar, Bhutan and Bangladesh.

Particularly with the Bhutanese prime minister Jigme Y Thinley, PM Dahal will discuss the issue of Bhutanese refugees living in eastern Nepal refugee camps from the past one and half decade after they were forcibly evicted from Bhutan by the Druk regime in one of the region’s worst act of ethnic cleansing.

PM Dahal also met Indian President Pratibha Patil this evening and discussed issues of bilateral cooperation.

On Friday, he will visit Tehri Dam in northwest India and return home the same evening.

On Wednesday, Minister for Foreign Affairs Upendra Yadav addressed the opening session of the Ministerial meeting in which he reiterated Nepal’s support to the idea of giving special emphasis on all areas of cooperation among the member states.

He said that given the high growth potential and high importance in the BIMSTEC region, connectivity, trade, hydropower development, tourism should get due priority.

An MP3 player is basically a storage device that contains solid-state memory like flash memory and software that will let us transfer audio files from our computer to the player. MP3 player may also includes features such as playlists, radio or web site streaming, and basic options like being able to choose backlight color, and equalization options. MP3 players most commonly use the USB port on our computer for data transfer however some may plug into the Fire Wire or paraller port. Once we transfer the music files to the player they are stored in the player’s memory.

Most MP3 player are battery-powered and may also come with an AC Adapter. Most MP3 player on the market today integrate volume adjustment capability into their main navigation controls, meaning we have to be on a playback screen to tweak listening levels. Depending on the brand of MP3 player, it might also support additional file types such as Windows Media Audio (WMA), Waveform Audio (WAV), Music Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI), Advanced Audio Coding (AAC), and other audio formats.

The difference between an iPod and an MP3 player is that both are MP3 players, but the iPod is a specific brand of MP3 player, made by Apple that has a specific set of features and design. Since the release of the Apple iPod in 2001, the iPod brand Apple has released many variations of its product such as the iPod classic, iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle, iPod Mini, iPod Nano and several spin-off devices such as the iPod Photo.

Unlike most mass market MP3 players, the iPods use the Apple iTunes software to transfer music to the music devices. Using iTunes we can store a music library on our computer, burn music from CD, transfer photos, videos, game and small applications (when supported by the player) and many other features. By making price comparison we can find Cheap Creative Zen MP3 players including the Creative Zen Mozaic and a cheap iPod online with the best deals. From the basic iPod Classics to the latest iPod Touch and iPhones Apple has inspired a whole generation with its range of truly portable multimedia players.
